OUR STORY

On May 22nd, 2008, Marines on New River, Jacksonville, NC. stood up a non-profit organization honoring the memories of our Marines, Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen that lost their lives in Marine Aviation during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Inspired from their memories of their lost brothers and sisters in combat, Marines coordinated a Warrior Night Memorial Dinner to honor their memories and their family members. After three events, the Warrior Night inspired many and a plan was developed to build a memorial honoring 100 years of Marine Aviation. After four years since 2008, the plan for a memorial inspired Marines from Pensacola, Florida to adopt the memorial and help raise the money. The success from our Marines and many volunteers helped errect the Marine Aviation Memorial Tower on August 19, 2012 honoring 100 years of Marine Aviation. Once the Marine Aviation Memorial Tower Park project was finalized, the founders of Honor Our Marines, Inc and those that have supported the organization are moving forward to continue to build memorials honoring all Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen and Coastguardsmen that have served with Marines for the past 241 years of Marine Corps history.
